The PC versions of the Godus and Godus Wars, some of the biggest failures in Peter Molyneux's career, have been withdrawn from sale.
The sad saga of Godus, the failed spiritual heir to the Populous series, is coming to an end.
Recall that Godus was designed by Peter Molyneux, the father of Populous. The game debuted in 2013 in early access - from which it never left - and turned out to be a huge disappointment. The scale of the failure is best reflected by the fact that on Steam, a mere 27% of all reviews praise the title, which is categorized as a "mostly negative" reception. Even worse stands Godus Wars, with only 14% of positive reviews. This game, released in 2016, has not left early access either.
The removal of these games from distribution is unlikely to cause players grief, as almost no one plays them anymore.. At the time of writing this news Godus on Steam is being played by 7 people, and in the case of Godus Wars it is only one player.
