No Man’s Sky has received the Omega update on February 15th, which introduced a new expedition, quests and changes to the gameplay. However, the update also brought a bug affecting black holes. If you’ve attempted to go through a black hole, only to find yourself on the other side of it – literally – then this guide is for you.

NMS Omega Expedition – How to Fix Black Hole Not Working Issue

Black holes in NMS are supposed to work as portals, transporting you somewhere else. However, with the current bug, you might find yourself passing through a black hole like it’s a simple decoration. If that happened to you, don’t fret, as the problem is not game-breaking. There are two easy ways you can fix it.

If Black Holes aren’t working in No Man’s Sky:

  1. Warp to any other black hole but the one that’s broken for you,
  2. Return to the space station and exit your ship. Doing so will create a restore point. Press the ESC key and reload it in Options, then try going through the black hole again.

Reloading a restore point seems to be crucial for dealing with the bug. Some players have reported that saving and restarting the game does not work the same way.

We can expect the issue will likely be fixed by the developers in a patch in the near future. Keep an eye on the official media channels for NMS and make sure to install any updates that pop up in the game.
