No Rest for the Wicked's huge update doubles world size, introduces new features, and adds 11,000 changes
We have learned the release date of the massive update to No Rest for the Wicked called The Breach. The list of changes includes more than 11,000 entries - we will get, among other things, new locations, thanks to which the game area will double.

As announced, Moon Studios revealed the release date of a huge update for No Rest for the Wicked during the Wicked Inside event. The Breach, as the update is called, will be released on April 30th. The material shown by the developers (available to watch below) runs for a full 25 minutes and includes a wealth of information about the game itself... and more.
New era for Moon Studios
During the live presentation, the devs also shared information about changes in the game's publishing background. Moon Studios purchased the publishing rights to No Rest for the Wicked from Private Division and became fully independent. The creators assured us that this change will allow them to develop the game more freely, without the need to maintain long-term information silence. They somewhat expressed this by announcing the upcoming new features at the end of the material and outlining the "roadmap."
As written on his profile by X, the founder of Moon Studios, Gennadiy Korol, achieving full independence has been the studio's dream since its first day. He also emphasized that it's great they can share this information on the anniversary of Ori And The Blind Forest's release. We also learned today that both installments of this series have sold 15 million copies.
What's new in The Breach?
As announced earlier, The Breach is the biggest update so far for No Rest for the Wicked, expanding almost every aspect of gameplay:
- New locations - the game will be enriched with two extensive zones: Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods (along with Marin Village), which will double the size of the available world. This also means additional traders and a lot of new items.
- Expanded campaign - the continuation of the story will introduce new characters, factions, and conflicts.
- New opponents and bosses - players will face, among others, Timber Wight, Rust Reavers, and many mysterious bosses that the developers didn't want to reveal yet.
- Weapons - two previously unavailable types of weapons will be added: brass knuckles and wands.
- System Pestilence - some areas may become contaminated, forcing players to fight against previously unknown enemies.
- Changes in the loot and equipment system include improvements to the algorithm for generating items, the ability to re-draw enchantments applied to items, and the introduction of a new category of weapons: Masterworks.
- Hardcore Mode - an option for the most demanding players, in which the death of a character means switching to the regular mode of the game (the community was asking for this type of option).
Furthermore, the devs have implemented several "quality of life" changes, including an improved item storage system (chests can now store significantly more loot) and fast travel stones to the player's homes. There was also information about a new soundtrack, which will be handled by the studio veteran Gareth Coker, who is responsible for the phenomenal tracks we heard in the Ori series. The full list of improvements that the latest update will bring reportedly contains 11,000 items.
Future of the game
The Breach will be added to the game on April 30th, and according to the developers, it marks only the start of further development for No Rest for the Wicked. The creators promise that thanks to the gained independence, future updates will appear faster and bring even more content. The material also mentioned co-op - as the game begins to gain more story content, the option for cooperation will also appear.
