Square Enix, the publisher of Outriders, the shooter from People Can Fly, boasted that the game attracted 3.5 million unique players in the first month after release. This figure includes all hardware platforms (PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia), on which the title is available. The game appeared in stores on April 1, this year.
According to the data collected by the company, gamers playing Outriders last month, spent, on average, 31 hours on the planet Enoch. The devs emphasize that the co-op gameplay was also very popular, although they did not give exactly what percentage of people opted for fighting together with their friends. More interesting facts and more detailed statistics about the game were published on the official Twitter account.
There is no doubt that the launch of Outriders was not one of the best. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the game due to the requirement of a constant connection to servers while playing. The gamers also complained about the huge number of bugs and the poor technical condition of the title. Many of them blame Square Enix for the situation. In the press release, however, we will not find any mention of the subject. The publisher only ensures that, together with the developers, it listens to the opinions of the community, and expresses hope that Outriders will continue to be intensively developed. The company also sees great potential in the new IP, which should result in the appearance of large expansions and updates in the near future.
