Riot Updates Ahri; Players Like It, but See One Issue

Riot boasts about the progress of Ahri's ASU. Fans like the direction of the changes, but express concern about other heroes who would also benefit from such improvements.

News broke in the LoL community about the progress of the Ahri update. Players are impressed with the work Riot Games has put into the character model, but with the excitement come some concerns. After all, Ahri is not the only heroine that developers should dust off.

ASU

ASUs are fixes that encompass updates to graphics and reliability. While these are not elements that affect gameplay in LoL, their refinement will make it easier for Riot to create new skins.

As part of the ASU, Ahri will receive updates to her story, basic model and skins, sound design and - what seems most important - animation and technical graphics. Here, Riot is focusing heavily on the physics of the heroine's nine tails.

Most impressive for players was the news of four different E skill animations. Depending on the direction Ahri faces, the tails will line up in a heart differently. This is where the catch comes in.

"It looks amazing. I can't wait for the Charm to get even prettier. It's good to be an Ahri main. I feel sorry for other players who will have to wait years for the ASU of their champion (and let's not hide it, a lot of characters need it), considering the pace they have now with ASUs," wrote BlueDragonRider.

Need to turn up the pace

Riot Games, wanting to treat each champion individually and putting the same amount of work into their updates, may simply not make it. Work on Ahri's ASU is expected to be completed early next year, and this has the players worried.

"The different animations of the tail heart depending on the direction the casts the charm is a really cool detail.

I hope they don't discontinue the initiative and start going through the list [of champions requiring ASU - ed. note]. faster than one per year," Penguin_Quinn wrote.

"Everything is beautifully nice, but with Riot's "ONE AT A TIME" mentality it will take about 50 years before all the champions who need ASU will get it," DeusVitae69 wrote.

At this point, it is worth mentioning that Riot chooses the characters that undergo makeovers based on, among other things, character's popularity. So we can guess that Ahri stood at the very front of the ASU queue. Definitely worse off in this regard are, for example, Zilean, Maplhite, Shaco, Amumu and many other older and less playable champions, which Riot Games should also take care of.
