Rise of the Ronin is Team Ninja's First Game With Choices Impacting Story

In the first quarter of the new year, another PlayStation 5 exclusive will debut on the market. It is Rise of the Ronin, about which director Fumihiko Yasuda told more in an interview with Game Informer.

Rise of the Ronin - new details

We have already learned the story outline of this open-world game, and during The Game Awards ceremony we learned when the title will hit the market. Now, in turn, we got a portion of new news about the gameplay.

1. An important part of the adventure will be the decisions we make, which will affect what kind of story finale we will see (there are to be several of them). We will also be able to choose dialogue options - Rise of the Ronin is the first game in the history of Team Ninja to offer this solution..
2. Players will take on the role of a nameless ronin, who will be referred to as "The Unseen Blade." During the adventure we will also learn about the main character's past.
3. The map will consist of three main cities: Yokohama, Kyoto and Edo (present-day Tokyo), which we will be able to explore freely. There will also be smaller towns and dangerous roads filled with bandits.
4. Some side missions will involve helping specific characters to strengthen our relationship with them (similarly to Ghost of Tsushima).
5. During the course of the game, we will encounter real characters, such as. Sakamoto Ryoma or Yoshida Shoin.
6. Our ronin will gain access to various weapons, including pistols. We will also be able to use interesting combinations to inflict additional damage - for example, to "set fire" to our katana.

Pre-orders of the game has already started

As of December 14, the game is available for pre-order on PlayStation Store. Interested parties can choose the standard version and the digital Deluxe Edition, which additionally provides, for example, an album of artwork, a soundtrack or Bando warrior armor.

Rise of the Ronin will debut on March 22, 2024 exclusively on PlayStation 5 consoles.
