StarCraft 2 Devs Invite to Test New Strategy Game. Stormgate Available at Steam Next Fest
RTS fans are in for quite a treat at the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Consisting of the co-creators of StarCraft 2, Frost Giant studio has announced that its upcoming game, Stormgate, will be available to check out at the event.
Developers from Frost Giants Studios have recently achieved great success. Their Stormgate - free-to-play RTS - achieved its Kickstarter goal in 15 minutes. Some time ago, these veterans, co-responsible for Starcraft 2, announced that they would make the beta version of their game available to all players (closed tests are ongoing), and the fundriser was to make it easier for them.
Open beta of Stormgate on Steam Next Fest
Today it turned out that this will take place in a month, during Steam Next Fest, which will last from February 5 to 12. We will then gain access to the ranked mode (one on one) and the cooperation mode (three players versus AI). A short preview of what awaits us is presented in the trailer below.
Early access for Kickstarter pledgers
People who decided to support the developers during the Kickstarter campaign (by purchasing the Deluxe Founder's Pack) will have a few additional days of beta. The creators decided to reward the supporters for their trust and give them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the game earlier. Thanks to this, they will be able to gain an advantage over the other players.

Closed beta tournament
Even though Stormgate is still in a relatively early stage of development, the first esports tournament in cooperation with EGC will take place during these tests. The first phase of the competition is scheduled for February 10 and 11, and there is $10,000 to be won. You will find out more details here.
