Styx: Shards of Darkness to launch on March 14; watch the new trailer

We knew it was going to be March, but now we also know the specific date of the release of Styx: Shards of Darkness. The nasty goblin assassin will start killing on March 14, 2017.

In this new behind the scenes video Focus Home Interactive revealed the specific release date for Styx: Shards of Darkness. The upcoming sequel to Cyanide Studio’s fantasy stealth action game is going to launch on March 14, 2017 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Apart from pointing to the release date, the video discusses the main character, the eponymous goblin assassin named Styx. He’s a nasty little creature with a prickly sense of humor and a knack for dirty tricks (not to mention stabbing people in the neck). The developers also talk a bit about level desing and their inspirations for that.

The next chapter of the story of Master of Shadows is going to take the protagonist into a stronghold of the Dark Elves, where a bloody conspiracy against goblins is born. Throughout the adventure, Styx will have to eliminate some key targets and steal precious objects, while remaining unseen by enemies. For this, he will make use of a couple of new abilities, e.g. creating a clone of himself that can distract enemies or attack them. You can also team up with another player in a co-op mode to raise your chances.

Styx: Shards of Darkness is now up for pre-orders on the official website offering an exclusive outfit and dagger as a bonus. PC Steam version is currently discounted by 10% – you can get it for $35.99.
