Tekken 8 is the newest instalment of the popular fighting game series. The title was released today on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. According to many fans, the game is also playable on the Steam Deck handheld (it does not have Valve verification yet, though). Unfortunately, a fatal error occurs on this device. In this guide you will learn how to fix this error.

Tekken 8 – Steam Deck fatal error fix

The Tekken 8 demo ran on Steam Deck without any major issues. However, the full version has some technical problems. Players report that a fatal error appears when trying to launch the title and game shuts down completely soon after. Fortunately, there is a solution to this problem.

Players report that using the method presented below effectively eliminates the bug. So, if it has occurred to you, you should try it out:

  1. Find Tekken 8 in the list on SteamOS.
  2. Click on gear icon to open the settings menu.
  3. Click on Properties tab.
  4. Open Force Compatibility and choose Proton Hotfix from the list.
  5. Run the game. For the first time you will have to wait until the patch is downloaded.
  6. Once Tekken 8 ends the process, launch it. The game should work properly.
