The Binding of Isaac getting the Afterbirth+ DLC today

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, the second DLC for this popular action RPG shooter with roguelike elements, is launching today on Steam.

Later today fans of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will be able to try out the content of the Afterbirth+ add-on, which is launching on Steam within several hours. In the second DLC to this popular action RPG shooter with heavy rougelike elements the eponymous boy Isaac will have to fight a whole lot of hellish creatures as well as face his lost siblings and eventually his mother, who wants to make a sacrifice of him. The expansion brings about over 50 new items and a new final chapter concluded with a boss fight. Here’s a creepy release date trailer:

Originally, The Binding of Isaac was a simple Flash game created by Super Meat Boy developers, Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl, and released in 2011. The extended version, with the subtitle Rebirth, was produced by Nicalis, who also worked on later DLCs, including Afterbirth+. In the game you play as a little boy who explores randomly generated dungeons, fights hordes of enemies, and solves puzzles using dozens of various objects and their combinations. Despite using cartoon-like stylistics, The Binding of Isaac has a dark and eerie atmosphere.
