The interesting item will soon hit Early Access on Steam. The Highrise is a game in which we will fight for survival surrounded by swarms of aliens by hiding in skyscrapers.
Spring seems to be the time of year when survival games pop up like mushrooms. Recently we informed about Enshrouded - an interesting survival fantasy game - and now it's time for the announcement of The Highrise, which will soon debut as part of Early Access on Steam. It is already available in the form of a short demo.
The independent game from studio Hatch is a survival FPP with horror elements, in which players will have to fight for survival amidst the overwhelming forces of aliens who have overrun the Earth.
The Highrise puts the player (or players, as the game offers co-op for up to 3 people) before a difficult task - the planet has been overrun by aliens who "came out from under the ground." The survivors take cover in skyscrapers, staying as far away from the aliens as possible. This means we can expect exploration of multi-level buildings, where, while searching for resources, we will have to avoid danger.
The goal of the game (in addition to surviving as long as possible) is to get out of the monster-infested skyscraper. We start on the top floors - the lower we venture, the greater the chance to find better loot, but also greater the danger. As we go through the floors, we will encounter more enemies and they will become more powerful.
The game will be available in two modes: sandbox and survival. The former will enable us to be reborn after death and recover lost resources. In the latter, death will be permanent.
Below are the system requirements of The Highrise.
The Highrise will debut in Early Access on May 29 on Steam. In the meantime, you can check out the free demo, which is quite popular - at the peak time the demo version was played by nearly 5,000 players.
