The Witcher Star Shed a Tear Over Henry Cavill's Departure
The third season of The Witcher is the last to feature Henry Cavill in the lead role. The recasting saddened not only fans, but also the show's Yennefer.
Henry Cavill's departure from Netflix's The Witcher came as a shock to the entire industry. Last year's news disappointed not only fans of the character, but also Anya Chalotra, who played the role of Yennefer.
The actress, in a recent interview with SFX Magazine revealed what she felt when she heard the sad news. As you can guess, it was not easy for her.
"I was really sad. I even shed a tear. We traveled together for a long time. The Witcher was the biggest thing in my career so far. It's the project where it all started. Henry was a huge part of it. He is a key member of the team and I will miss him," she said.
Recall that Netflix was very quick to find a replacement for Henry Cavill. Indeed, starting with the fourth season, Geralt of Rivia will be played by Liam Hemsworth, who was reportedly one of the favorites to take on the role of the monster slayer even before Cavill's engagement. How will the actor handle the character known from the books written by Andrzej Sapkowski?
We will have to wait a little longer for the answer to this question. The fourth season of The Witcher has no official release date. However, the farewell to the current actore will not happen right away.
The third season of The Witcher has in fact been divided into two parts. The first of these will debut as early as June 29. The rest of the episodes will be released on July 27, 2023. They will be available to watch on Netflix.
