They Are Billions - Victory Points Explained

If you are curious about what Victory Points are used for in They Are Billions, we answer that question in this article.

They Are Billions is a strategy game that allows you to create your own colony in a zombie-infested world. The player's goal is to survive successive waves of the undead and make the settlement flourish and give hope to humanity. At the end of each mission your progress is evaluated. Many people wonder what the purpose of victory points is in They Are Billions. We will answer that question.

Points in They Are Billions

In They Are Billions you can earn several types of different points. In the campaign, during and for completed quests, you can acquire:

  1. Research points - with them you will research new technologies between missions. This is an essential resource for developing your combat capabilities.
  2. Empire points - these allow you to hire soldiers and place structures during special tasks to defeat hordes blocking your path.
  3. Victory points - these are points awarded for victories. They are affected by the level of difficulty, the size of your population, the losses suffered and the number of approaches to a mission.

What Victory Points are used for in They Are Billions

Victory points have no practical use, other than to show them off and compare them with other players' scores. So if you don't care about this aspect of the game, you don't have to worry about them.

However, they are necessary to earn the rather rare achievements in the For Quintus! series. There are 4 of them and they involve winning the New Empire Campaign with the right number of Victory Points. The first achievement requires you to earn 10,000 VP (4.5% of players have earned it at the moment). To unlock the fourth you will have to earn as many as 70,000 VP (1.4% of the game's owners).
