Update

We have received a response from CD Projekt RED:

"As we reported in September 2022, owners of the Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 Limited console bundle will be refunded the cost of the expansion in the form of Microsoft Store credits.

Nothing has changed on this topic - Xbox will soon outline the next steps for players who purchased the Xbox Cyberpunk LE console. Owners of the console will soon receive messages directly from Xbox with all the details of the process of making the credits available to their Microsoft Store account."

Original message (September 27)

By virtue of the cooperation established by CD Projekt with Microsoft several years ago, the market saw the launch of a a limited edition Xbox One X console with Cyberpunk 2077 theme. Those who decided to purchase the device at the time received the game as a bundle, as well as the promise of free access to the planned first paid expansion.

The situation became very complicated last year, when CDPR announced that the upcoming expansion Phantom Liberty is being developed only for PCs and current-gen consoles (i.e., Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5).

The decision to abandon previous-gen devices prompted customers to demand refunds for the DLC, which they will not receive. As compensation, CD Projekt agreed to refund part of the purchase cost of the limited set in the form of credits to be used in Microsoft's store.

After months of waiting for reparation, there has been a breakthrough in the case - although not the one hoped for by the bitter customers. From the comments that have begun to appear online in recent days, it appears that Phantom Liberty is being assigned to the accounts of Xbox users even if those users do not own an Xbox Series X/S. Needless to say, the DLC is completely useless to them (per IGN and Game Hunters).

In order to solve the problem, customers are contacting CD Projekt and Microsoft, but due to communication problems neither party is able to give them a clear answer on the matter.

Two DLCs do not make one...

Owners of the limited Xbox One X edition, who pre-purchased the DLC, can also talk about disappointment, as two DLCs were assigned to their account - Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty with a gift -Quadra Sport R-7 Vigilante vehicle. It is likely that they will not be able to take advantage of the bonus, because the console installs the former Phantom Liberty first.

This situation can only be resolved by requesting the removal of the DLC from our account via Microsoft Store support.
