The Division 2: How to unlock the Dark Zones?

This section of our guide to Division 2 is dedicated to the Dark Zones. You will learn how to access the Dark Zones in Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and what the gameplay is like in there. Access to the Dark Zones is not obvious and requires completing some main quests.

Icons on the map representing the mission (turquoise icon), give access to Dark Zones (purple icon).

As you complete main quests (you need to have a Dark Zone officer in the base - Senait Ezera), you open the opportunity to eventually play a mission that will allow you to open the Dark Zone (recommended level for the first Zone - 10). The picture above shows the marker of the mission of opening the Dark Zone.

The picture shows the progress in the recruitment of new team members in the base of operations and the requirements for the recruitment of a new member.

Unlocking the officer is linked to the fulfillment of certain conditions - completing 4 main missions. After playing 4 main missions and visiting a new member in the base of operations, you will get a mission to open the Dark Zone. After its completion, you will be able to move freely there.
