Weird West is a singleplayer experience, but you can recruit some companions to help you along the way. You can travel with two followers at the same time - they'll follow you faithfully and help you in combat.
To recruit followers in Weird West you must visit towns - recruitable NPCs are marked with a cowboy icon. Of course, recruiting experienced allies requires payment. Some NPCs are willing to join you for free, if you complete a specific task or treat them right.
You should also know that after completing one of Weird West's storylines and switching characters, the previous protagonists can also be recruited to your party. They still have their skills and gear from the previous storylines.
