Animal Crossing: New Horizons. How to start playing? The best video games

Table of Contents

  1. Release date: 2020
  2. Genre: casual co-operative sandbox
  3. Platform: Nintendo Switch
  4. It's a game for: people looking for a quiet, peaceful game

If you've ever dreamed of escaping to a deserted island where you'll live in a little cabin, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the answer to your needs.

The Animal Crossing series takes the player to an idyllic world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. In New Horizons, you create your avatar, then you go to your island to decorate, build, and embellish, and generally have a nice time. If you get tired of personalizing your new home, you can explore the countryside, go fishing or visit other islands. It's up to you what you grow in your garden, how you decorate your cottage and who you want to invite to your slice of paradise. In addition to your hero, other players and independent characters can live there.

The release of Animal Crossing: New Horizon coincided with the coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps that's why the game has been so spectacularly successful, selling more than 22 million copies by June 2020. It's quite the perfect game for such circumstances, bringing nice views, cute animals, and easy relationships.

Interestingly, the game actually matches the time of year and day to your location. Of course, each season offers different activities and items.

The biggest flaw in Animal Crossing? Full freedom. The biggest advantage of Animal Crossing? Full freedom. There are no goals in this game. Animal Crossing offers a range of simple tasks for which you receive virtual currency to buy home improvements. This game is your little sandbox where you do what you want to do, but it doesn't really get you anywhere.

RULE #3

If you're afraid of discouragement, chose a game where it's nearly impossible to fail. Losing also has to be learned.
