A lot of things can be done faster than Cyberpunk 2077. For example, the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. This unlikely venture began in 1933, and the bridge was completed in 1937. Can you imagine that? In four years, the bridge was thrown across the Golden Gate strait, creating a structure with a length of more than 1.7 miles.
The beautiful golden gate never became a bridge of love. Instead, unfortunately, it turned out to be a bridge of suicides. It is estimated that about 1500 people attempted suicide by leaping off it, of which almost 50 survived. That's not all – during its four-year construction, 11 workers died. The safety nets that were set up under the bridge saved 19 other construction workers, who later founded the exclusive Half Way to Hell Club. I'm dead serious. A club of people who fell off a bridge.
If you're not impressed, then how about the Eiffel Tower? The construction began in 1887 and was completed, note, in 1889. Two years, 1,063 feet and 10,000 tons of steel is pretty impressive.
I remember my first visit to Paris. We drove from Amsterdam across Belgium, and were halted by anti-terrorists (that was right after the horrific November 2015 Paris attacks), and arrived in the capital of France after many hours. By the way, did you know there's a rink on the Eiffel Tower? That's right – it's one of those craziest things about that iconic building.
Both these fantastic feats of architecture were accomplished with incredibly hard work, but they attract millions of tourists every year. Get the parable?
