8 Times When Developers Should Have Bit Their Tongue

Game developers are, of course, also humans. That's why strange statements and all sorts of slip-ups happen to them too. Especially when they feel defensive. We have aggregated a list of instances when they definitely said too much.

Table of Contents

"It just works"

  1. Who said it? Todd Howard, the creator of Fallout 4.
  2. Where and when? E3 2015.

Todd Howard is quite a "memish" person. Many of his statements are quoted in various parts of the Internet. However, the one we are talking about here has found a special place among the gaming community. After all, there was even a song that refers to this famous statement, although it took 5 years for it to be made. Bethesda and Todd didn't disappoint and gave a lot of new inspiration, slowly creating the entire text of the song.

We're talking about the presentation of Fallout 4 at E3 in 2015. On the stage, Todd Howard spoke about the new mechanics to appear in the upcoming game. This particular statement was about a crafting system that allows you to recycle environmental elements and create new items and structures. And well, it just works.

As mentioned above, Bethesda and Todd Howard have provided enough material over the years to eventually make the famous song. The thing is seasoned with all kinds of glitches known from various games of the studio, and other controversies deriving from the company's already notorious carelessness and unfriendly practices – including the infamous horse armor.
