Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Adaptation: basically, Altered Carbon, but not flunked, and about Adam Jensen.
A film was supposed to have been announced many years ago, but it's nowhere to be seen. And it's okay, because a show would be much better. We could learn what's become of the protagonist, or just watch the entire story again. The new Deus Ex games were extremely compelling.
Gameplay-wise, this may not make that much sense, as Jensen is mostly sneaking around, but when it comes to setting, Deus Ex explores some really serious, ethical themes. Adam Jensen himself, however, is a very charismatic character. Who could play him? My first thought was Christian Bale. Maybe it's the beard.
The Deus Ex series could be something like Altered Carbon, only good.
