Puzzle & Dragons is a simple but entertaining representative of the match-3 genre. Laying gems side by side remains the main element of the gameplay. In order to diversify the experience, though, the creators offered us the ability to breed fantastic creatures. We can then designate them to fight, and so develop them – the combat system, on the other hand, uses the core mechanics of the genre, having the player match the gems. The longer the sequence, the more powerful the attack will be.
You also can't complain about the number of available monsters. Some of them are behind the wall of microtransactions, which, fortunately, can be bypassed. This is useful if we discover an arden collector within ourselves and suddenly wish to catch them all. The only pity is that Puzzle & Dragons does not offer a compact story, but rather bets on an open fantasy world, which isn't even a background here.
