These two opposite quests are related to a captured bandit's execution at Headman's Hill. If you decide to join with the Guards (Execution Tree), you'll have to hold some bandits off and escort the prisoner to his death. If you support the bandits (Execution Tree Rescue), you'll just have to fight your way through ranks of guards and free your colleague. Nothing to think about in here, just butt kicking all the way through.
