This page provides information about growing sunflower and corn in Farming Simulator 22.
Last update: 10 December 2021
On this page of the guide to Farming Simulator 22, you will learn how high yields per hectare you will get from sunflower and corn, what you need to harvest them and where and what you can process them into in factories.
What do you need?
Corn and sunflower belong to the root plants. You can harvest them both with the help of a special header for a harvester.
- Medium tractor - to ensure optimum harvest, it is worth plowing the field instead of cultivating, which is part of the heavier work in the field; however, you can use light subsoilers to make the work easier.
- Cultivator or plow - instead of a plow, you can use a subsoiler or spaders; instead of a cultivator, you can use disc or mechanical harrows.
- Planter,
- Harvester with a header for harvesting corn and sunflower (with "spikes"),
- Average trailer - preferably its capacity is close to or a multiple of the capacity of the harvester's.
To maximize profits:
- fertilize the field twice,
- Do soil rolling immediately after sowing,
- Make mulching before cultivation/plowing,
- Do not let the weeds grow,
- Do not harvest in the rain,
- Plowing increases the harvest by 15%.
You can store the collected goods in a silo.
Corn
Corn is one of the root crops. It requires a header for corn.
- It is one of the ingredients of cereals.
- You can feed it to pigs.
Corn yield is 18,000l per hectare.
Sunflower
Sunflower is one of the root crops.
- It is used in the production of canola oil in an oil mill (200l canola -> 100l canola oil).
- You can feed it to pigs.
Sunflower yield is 10,000l per hectare.
