Strategy games. Victory depends here on player’s strategy and tactics. Main task is to control resources (e.g. troops, civil workers) in order to defeat an enemy or achieve some other goal. Stronghold: Crusader

A sequel to Stronghold, an economic strategy game set in the Middle Ages and developed by FireFly Studios in 2001. This time we travel to the Middle East of the crusades period in the late 11th and the early 12th century. The game mechanics are not much different from what fans of the series know and love. The game's biggest innovation is the setting, albeit it features also some minor gameplay adjustment, such as dealing with limited water supplies.

A real time strategy in a medieval fantasy setting developed by Haemimont Games studio. Tzar: The Burden of the Crown takes place in a land of Keanor, which is ruled by the Dark Lord and his minions after the death of king Roan. We play as the son of the latter, prince Sartor, raised by a wizard to defeat the evil and restore his kingdom to its former glory. Gameplay takes a lot from typical RTS titles, like the classic Warcraft series.
X-COM: Apocalypse

In X-COM: Apocalypse, we assume the role of the commander of X-COM, an organization created to defend Earth against the alien invaders. The base gameplay is exactly the same as in the previous installments of the series. During the game, we build and develop bases, research new technologies, as well as employ and equip our soldiers.
Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs

The first official expansion for Age of Empires III, developed by Ensemble Studios. The expansion introduces three new nations (Iroquois, Sioux, and Aztecs) described in the story campaign. The individual factions are different not only in terms of available buildings, but also by their strengths and weaknesses – the Iroquois have access to artillery and siege machines, the Sioux use horses for swift movement, while the Aztecs are known for their strong infantry.
Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword

The Guild 2: Venice

The second expansion to The Guild, a real-time strategy game with RPG features, developed by 4Head Studios. True to its title, the add-on takes us to Venice – a 15th century Italian city state, which the creators recreated with all details - and allows the players to visit places like Piazza San Marco or Doge’s Palace. Due to the unique location of the metropolis, many places can only accessed with new means of transport - gondolas.
Endless Space

A science-fiction turn-based 4X strategy game and a debut of Amplitude, a studio created by former employees of EA and Ubisoft. The game takes place in the distant future, in a galaxy inhabited by 8 rivaling civilizations. The player assumes the role of one of them and is tasked with leading his faction to domination over the others. The gameplay focuses on exploration of a randomly generated galaxy, developing economy, technology and diplomacy.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown

A science-fiction turn-based strategy game that came out as a reboot of the cult series, UFO: Enemy Unknown, launched back in 1994 by Microprose. This new title was created by Firaxis Games, a studio founded by Sid Meier. The story of XCOM: Enemy Unknown does not follow any of the plotlines started by its predecessors. Instead, it tells a new story of the war between humans and an aggressive alien race.
March of the Eagles

Battalion Wars 2

WarCraft: Orcs and Humans is an RTS set in a fantasy universe, and the debut game from Blizzard Entertainment (an American studio, previously going by the name Silicon & Synapse). The events of WarCraft: Orcs and Humans take place in a fantasy land of Azeroth, where the conflict between humans and orcs takes place. The players choose their side and attempt to conquer the other.

The game, loosely inspired by the setting of Glen Cook's The Black Company series, lets us play the part of a commander of the Army of Light, leading our armies to battle the forces of darkness led by powerful sorcerers, the eponymous Fallen Lords.
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Supreme Commander: In the face of an enemy, it is an independent extension of the 2007 Real-Time Space Strategy (RTS). The action of the add-on was set after the events presented in the base game. The divided factions of the UEF, Cybran and Aeon have to face a new threat together - the alien Seraphim race. Developers from Gas Powered Games studio prepared over 100 new units, as well as a number of changes in the mechanics of the game.
