32nd AMERICA’S CUP - THE GAME

Considered to be the ultimate in nautical simulations, the Virtual Skipper series has enjoyed huge critical and commercial success over the past few years.

Take part in thrilling regattas aboard world-class boats on a sea surging with realism in single- and multiplayer games.

The latest version of Virtual Skipper is packed with features that will delight all sailing fans, the highlight being a magnificent campaign dedicated to the America’s Cup. The game enables you to skipper the finest competition boats currently available in over 14 different ocean water courses; the settings for the most prestigious international competitions.

The America’s Cup may represent the fantastic highlight in this latest edition of Virtual Skipper, but the other classes of boat have not been forgotten! Players can therefore take the helm of four types of competition boat, each behaving differently on the sea, in specific campaigns or in multiplayer mode on the Internet. If the 12 official “Class America” boats are the stars of the new Virtual Skipper titles, players will appreciate the variety offered by the inclusion of other types of boat, such as the Trimaran Open 60, the real “formula ones” of the sea, the Offshore Racer and the Melges 24.

TAKE PART IN THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS NAUTICAL CHALLENGES

What has now become the third international sporting event after the World Cup and the Olympic Games, the America’s Cup is undoubtedly the most prestigious of all nautical competitions.

32nd America’s Cup – The Game throws you in at the deep end of this supreme challenge, taking place in Spain, off the coast of Valencia, where the city is faithfully reproduced with its America’s Cup port, which will act as host to the participants in the competition.

In The America’s Cup campaign, you will skipper one of the 11 official challengers to win the Louis Vuitton Cup, where you will be up against all the boats in the competition. Victory will enable you to take part in the America’s Cup, the ultimate finale, where you will challenge Alinghi, the Swiss boat and current holder of the trophy, to a breathtaking duel. The class of boat used in 32nd America’s Cup – The Game is the America’s Cup Class (ACC), or Class America. Its design conforms to the specific rules, including several fairly severe restrictions, such as size, weight and sail surface, which are the three main factors in the performance of a sailing boat. The constructors must find the best compromise, depending on the anticipated weather conditions. In the game, each official boat has its own characteristics and statistics (crew, hull, sail, weight, etc.) which will influence the boat’s performance, its behaviour and the AI controlling it. To make the game as realistic as possible, the performance and behaviour of each boat take into account the results achieved by the challengers during the preliminary rounds of the America’s Cup held in 2006.
