Release Date: November 4, 2025 Early Access
An asymmetrical multiplayer game with gameplay changing depending on the role we choose, created by the developers behind 7 Days to Die and Subaeria. 7 Days Blood Moons allows us to control a zombie horde or to become one of the survivors trying to defend against waves of the living dead.
In 2024, The Fun Pimps Entertainment studio released the full version of their survival game titled 7 Days to Die (eleven years after its debut in early access). In 2018, the 1.0 version of the Subaeria project, developed by the independent Illogika Studios, was released. Subsequently, The Fun Pimps Entertainment and Illogika Studios collaborated, resulting in the project 7 Days Blood Moons described here.
7 Days Blood Moons transports us to a world overrun by the living dead. The gameplay varies depending on who we are controlling. The game's core is an asymmetrical multiplayer based on 4 versus 1 rules, where four players take on the roles of survivors, while the fifth participant controls a horde of zombies (alternatively, the AI can manage them).
As one of the survivors, the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The gameplay becomes a "mix" of a shooter and tower defense. The key to success is cooperation with other players as we eliminate hordes of zombies and gather resources necessary for survival.
Among these resources, we'll find not only ammunition and medical kits but also building materials. These are used to construct various types of fortifications that can stop or slow down zombies attacking under the cover of night, thereby increasing your chances of surviving until morning. The game also allows us to set traps for the undead.
As we progress, we unlock increasingly better weapons, which we either find or craft ourselves, as well as various upgrades for the weapons we already possess. Additionally, the game allows for modifying the appearance of the survivor characters.
When we decide to stand on the other side of the barricade, we take control of an army of zombies, whose main task is to attack the survivors' base. We can observe our forces of the living dead from a bird's-eye perspective (which makes this part of the game reminiscent of RTS titles). Moreover, the games allows us to take control of selected zombies and participate directly in combat. The remains of killed humans that we collect allow us to unlock new types of undead, which are diversified in terms of skills and strengths and weaknesses.
The graphics of 7 Days Blood Moons are done in cel-shading technique. One of its characteristic elements is the environment that is susceptible to destruction.
