Achilles: Legends Untold

Achilles: Legends Untold is an action RPG, inspired by soulslikes and classic hack'n'slash games. It was developed by Dark Point Games, an independent Polish studio.

Plot

Achilles: Legends Untold takes us to the world from Greek mythology. The main hero of the game is the title hero - Achilles - who found himself in the middle of the conflict between Hades and Ares. Wanting to end the eternal battle of the gods, the protagonist must face the son of the latter - Phobos. To do so, he embarks on an epic journey, supported by Hephaestus, the blacksmith of the Greek pantheon, among others.

Game mechanics

In Achilles: Legends Untold we observe the action from an isometric view. The adventure leads us through diverse, but equally full of dangers locations - from ruined cities and temples, through dense forests and ending with gloomy underground. Wandering through them, we mainly complete tasks (those pushing the plot forward and side missions) and fight with enemies.

We eliminate enemies using mainly cold weapons, such as sword and shield or spear. Achilles must stay in motion, efficiently block enemy attacks or perform quick evasions, as well as make lightning-fast counterattacks. On his way there are both regular enemies and much more powerful opponents such as cyclops or oversized crabs. Despite the fact that we play the role of a mythical hero, we have to be constantly on our guard, because even common adversaries can beat us up. The game implements the GAIA system, which makes sure that groups of enemies behave in a realistic way, cooperating with each other and adapting their actions to our fighting style.

As we progress we develop the protagonist, learning new skills and improving the ones we already have, as well as gaining better equipment. The latter we find in the game world or receive from Hephaestus, who creates new weapons and armor for us from the resources and unnecessary items brought to him.

Game modes

Achilles: Legends Untold allows you to play solo or in online co-op mode.

Technical aspects

Achilles: Legends Untold features good graphics. The whole thing is colorful, clear and detailed enough to let your eyes hang on both the location designs and enemy models.
