A third-person detective adventure game. Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile was based on the novel by the same name, but it expands beyond the book original. There are two playable characters - Hercules Poirot and Joanna Locke. They both run their own investigations, heading towards the common goal.
Agatha Christie's works have received a number of adaptations in the form of video games. This also includes the detective adventure game described here, titled Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile. The studio behind its development is Microids, known for the Syberia series. The same publisher has in its portfolio a thematically and genre-related project Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express.
In Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP).
The game is based on the story from the novel Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie. Similar to the previous title under this brand by Microids, the game allows us to play as two main characters.
The first one is the detective Hercule Poirot, known from the original, whose peaceful cruise on the Nile is interrupted by a terrible crime. The second is Joanna Locke, whom we already had the opportunity to meet in the Murder on the Orient Express game. She's a private detective following the trail of a murderer, whose investigation leads her through London, Majorca and New York. The investigations of both protagonists converge in Abu Simbel.
The story told here is set in the 1970s and not only goes beyond the plot of the book, but also abounds in a series of mysteries and plot twists.
Adventure leads us through such places as the deck of a cruise ship, Majorca, London, or Cairo. During it, we conduct conversations with other characters and collect clues and evidence. We can use these last ones in confrontations with suspects to expose their deceptions.
We can connect the discovered facts together on a special mind map, which leads us on the right track and allows us to push the plot forward. Our conversations and observations also allow us to create full profiles of individual characters.

Game Ratings for Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile Video Game.
WayTooManyGames: 8 / 10 by Heidi Hawes
Microids seems to be finally finding their stride with these Agatha Christie games, and I couldn’t be happier! The story is compelling, even if it felt overly padded at times with the inclusion of another protagonist, the gameplay has been reworked so it feels much more satisfying, and the puzzles are a lot of fun without being overly complicated. This is by far the most fun I’ve had playing an Agatha Christie game in a long time.
The Gamerheads Podcast : by Roger Reichardt
I enjoyed my time with Death on the Nile. Both Poirot and Royce’s stories were engaging, though I would have preferred to see them as two separate games rather than alternating each chapter. Interacting with suspects and having the game fully voiced was an unexpected surprise. Some of the puzzles felt a bit overdone, and there were moments where I grew frustrated trying to figure out the next clue to move the story forward. That said, the mind-map feature and drawing conclusions made me feel like a true detective, and it was a fun and unique way to gamify the deduction process.
Loot Level Chill: 6 / 10 by Kieran Singh
Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile brings some inventive puzzles in a fun 70's setting but unfortunately also comes with an unwanted B-plot swapping the Poirot murder mystery for a ridiculous conspiracy chase.
