An old-school shoot 'em up game created by Art In Games. The game provides a continuation to the 2010 game AirAttack. AirAttack 2 does not feature any specific story as such, and the player assumes the role of a pilot who fights against the air forces of the Axis.
AirAttack 2 is an old-school shmup released on iOS. The project was developed by Art in Games studio.
According to the title, the game is a continuation of AirAttack from 2010. Just like the original, AirAttack 2 doesn't have any storyline. Instead, the action takes place in a slightly caricatured version of World War II, and we play the role of a pilot, who has to fight against the Axis States aircraft.
The authors didn't bother with historical realism and that is why the battles involve machines that use technologies which at that time didn't exist.
AirAttack 2 is a classic shmup. We observe the action from a bird's eye view, showing a small plane flying upwards the screen. Our task is to shoot down enemies, avoid projectiles and collect valuable items. There are five different fighters to choose from, and players can modify them by installing several upgrades such as flame throwers, tail cannon, bomber hatches, guided missiles or lasers. We can also get a wingman, which will help us during the missions.
The campaign consists of over twenty extensive missions, requiring hundreds of ordinary units to be defeated, and a large set of powerful bosses. The fun is diversified by the possibility of destroying most elements of the environment, as well as the presence of sequences in which we control the deck turret.
AirAttack 2 also has the option to challenge friends in duels for points, as well as competing with the rest of the community using online rankings. However, there is no multiplayer mode for direct combat with other users.
