Angst: A Tale of Survival is a top-down survival game with roguelike elements. The game was created by the Polish studio Cherrypick Games, known for titles of various genres published on mobile devices, such as Touchdown Hero or My Hospital.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in The Hopeward Hollow, a hostile and snow-covered environment. As an unnamed survivor, we wake up in an old hut and the last thing we remember is a snowstorm. Through exploration, we try to discover who we are and what happened to us.

On our path, we encounter paranormal phenomena and entities. Some of them want to help us, while others are trying to annihilate us.

Gameplay

The aim of the game is to survive in a hostile environment. We go out to find as many useful materials and food as possible. From the collected resources, we produce the necessary tools, clothes, and weapons. We obtain food by hunting wild animals and fishing.

Survival is hindered not only by harsh temperatures, but also by hostile fauna. We must deal with wolves, bears and other mysterious beings.

By persevering for the next few days and creating items, we unlock new skills along with construction schematics that allow us to extend our good streak. The character development system is non-linear, which allows us to personalize the hero according to our game plan.

Apart from exploring The Hopeward Hollow alone, we can play together with friends, thanks to online cooperation.
