Mechanics

Animal Force is an FPP game. Your task is to fight back against the aliens (usually by preventing abductions), using three types of animal units. Each animal has its distinct abilities, adjusted to be effective against a different kind of enemy. Thus, to succeed, you need to pick them appropriately and put them in the right spots, countering the enemy's attacks. As the game progresses, you can also develop your troops' abilities. There are 20 types of opponents to fight, as well as several boss enemies.

PlayStation LifeStyle: 6.5 / 10 by Paulmichael Contreras

Animal Force has a cool idea, as it introduces gamers to tower defense in 360 degrees. But its execution feels more like a tech demo than a fully fleshed-out game. A massive difficulty spike in the second world will leave many players desperate for any sense of progress, and leveling up units takes a long time when one is stuck on a particular level. A trio of local multiplayer games gives players something else to do when they're tired of the inevitable grind, at least. A bit more time spent balancing such a new form of tower defense could have gone a long way towards making Animal Force more enjoyable. At $15.99 ($12.79 for PS Plus) USD, it's not a terrible buy, but it could have been a hit with just a few more tweaks.

The PlayStation Brahs: by Brandon Mayflower

Animal Force doesn’t limit you to traditional rules but gives you the freedom to allow you to play in your style of defense…to play your way. There is something special about animals joining together to help and protect and all I can say is I am pro Animal Team Force all the way. Sometimes we play games in hopes that a new standard of a genre will be set so others can try to meet and exceed that standard so that everyone can enjoy and it that may have happened here.
