Release Date: November 3, 2015
The sixth major installment in a popular economic strategy game series, which started in the Medieval Times (1404-1701) and went all the way to the future (Anno 2070). This new title was developed by the creators of The Settlers franchise, Blue Byte Software, who took part in the development of the previous Anno game.
Anno 2205 is the next installment of the renowned series of economic strategy games, and a direct sequel to Anno 2070. This time the developers from the Blue Byte studio are responsible for the production and they have made it their primary ambition to create the best city builder title on the market.
The action of the new Anno game takes place in the distant future, which means that we will be dealing with futuristic buildings and technologies. We play the role of an administrator for an emerging metropolis; it is our main task to create the city from the ground up and lead it and its citizens to prosperity, so that we may set off for space at a later time. It is of dire importance, that you explore the cosmos as soon as possible and gather the much needed resources, since Earth does not have an unlimited amount of supplies at its disposal and has been severely depleted by humans over the last few centuries.
Because of the mentioned novelties, the gameplay in Anno 2205 takes place on two different planes; we start off on the surface of our home planet and later on expand to the moon, where we establish a human colony. The inhabitants of Luna will collect resources for the rest of our civilization, which will then be transported and processed on the planet and used to expand our metropolis on the globe’s surface, as well as the colony on Earth’s natural satellite.
The developers have prepared a wide range of available structures, including both residential and industrial buildings, each of our facilities upgrades on its own over time; however, the Blue Byte studio has also made it possible for us to upgrade our constructions on our own account through adding various modules.
The new Anno title offers a simultaneous gameplay model, which was also featured in the newest installment of the SimCity series, the mechanic allows the gameplay to be conducted simultaneously on several maps, both in space and on the planet’s surface.
Apart from the several novelties, the gameplay remains largely unaltered in comparison to the previous Anno games, especially the fans of the previous installment – Anno 2070 – will feel right in their element whilst playing the brand new Blue Byte production.

Game Ratings for Anno 2205 Video Game.
GameWatcher: 7.5 / 10 by TJ Denzer
Anno 2205 has so much going on and makes all of your tasking varied and interesting. One game is three different building sims with real-time strategy naval battles peppered in and everything moves in a way that makes it compelling and addictive instead of overwhelming. It's an ambitious improvement in a lot of ways over Anno 2070. Unfortunately, the technical issues keep it from being the perfect entry in the series that it wants to be.
GamingBolt: 6 / 10 by Ravi Sinha
Anno 2205 seems like it had promise but was subsequently scaled back on release. It's a decent diversion with some more than decent visuals but you'll crave so much more, especially after Cities: Skylines.
Critical Hit: 8 / 10 by Matthew Figueira
Anno 2205 is a solid city-building and economic management game, one that provides an addictive experience. As the end game draws on however, some players may experience fatigue and move on. Fans however, will find a sim that will eat up dozens of hours of their time, especially if they are out to establish a perfectly balanced economy.
