The sixth installment in a popular city builder game series is now out. Anno 2205 launched today on PC – you can grab it on Steam for $59.99. Unlike previous Anno games, most of which were set in different historical periods here on Earth, this time players venture into future to build and expand their modern metropolises and colonise the Moon.

First reviews reveal Blue Byte Software managed to deliever a decent product. However, despite changing the setting, the very gameplay was not revolutionized and still repeats small mistakes of its predecessors (as noted by PC Gamer). Here are some of the early reviews:

  1. Gaming Nexus – 9,5/10
  2. GameStar – 8,5/10
  3. XGN – 8/10
  4. Lazygamer – 8/10
  5. PC World – 4/5
  6. GameWatcher – 7,5/10
  7. CGMagazine – 7,5/10
  8. IGN Spain – 7/10

In a near future Anno 2205 will receive two big expansions: Tundra and Orbit, which will expand the game with two brand new bioms. Both add-ons are included in the Season Pass, available for $19.99.
