Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a combination of a dynamic action game with elements of a tactical real-time strategy - attempting an unusual approach to the popular tower defense genre. The story is set in 2018, when strange anomalies begin to occur on the surface of our planet.
Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PC, X360 and PS3 is an example of the so-called "reversed Tower Defense". It combines elements of a dynamic action game with those of a tactical real-time strategy. It is the debut of the Polish 11bit Studios that consists of many former workers of the famous Metropolis Software studio.
The story in Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PC, X360 and PS3 is set in 2018. Anomalies occur in the biggest cities of the world, where great war machines are also present exterminating civilians. Thus it is not an optimistic alternative to the future. The player is put in the shoes of a squad leader whose members were sent to Baghdad to find out about the anomaly that occurred there. Through completing subsequent missions, the player discovers bits of information about origins of the anomalies and intentions of the machines.
In Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PC, X360 and PS3, the actual gameplay focuses on controlling the squad whose members are first chosen by the player. The player has access to six combat machines, the properties of which have o be used correctly on the battlefields. The player's combat machines have to be accurately guided through unfriendly areas and kept in one piece. The second half of the success is to ensure completion of the objectives. The player has direct control only over the squad leader who takes direct part in battles. Through the unique skills of this character, the player can tip the balance in favor of their victory.
Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PC, X360 and PS3 offers two specific game modes. In terms of these, the full-fledged story campaign is in the centre of attention. Subsequent campaign missions are interconnected by the storyline. Apart from that, there is a wide variety of challenges focusing exclusively on fighting subsequent waves of enemy mechs. Despite the fact the action is viewed from above, the game offers very nice three-dimensional graphics.
