While Studio Wildcard, which created the ARK brand, was working on ARK: Survival Ascended and ARK II, Snail Games created ARK: Aquatica. This is a non-canon expansion for ARK: Survival Evolved, created for the 10th anniversary of the game and telling an alternative, mythical story connecting all the ARK worlds.

Biggest new features

The biggest novelty introduced in ARK: Aquatica is the necessity to survive in a completely underwater world. The add-on provides us with 5 diverse biomes (including a starting biome designed for beginner players), each equipped with a unique ecosystem.

Underwater creatures and environmental threats

The expansion brings 21 underwater creatures of the likes of Monodon and Marsh Harrier, as well as mutated versions of classic dinosaurs, which have adapted to life in the depths. We can tame these creatures and travel on their backs. In addition, the add-on introduces environmental hazards, led by overwhelmingly high pressure and strong ocean currents.

Engrams and culinary recipes

In ARK: Aquatica we have new Engrams at our disposal, including lead boots that allow walking on the ocean floor, TEK air capsules for sea bases, or mutations that allow land creatures to breathe underwater. The icing on the cake is the option to prepare 10 culinary recipes.
