Battlefield 1: Apocalypse is the last big add-on for Battlefield 1. It has been developed by DICE studio which belongs to Electronic Arts company. DLC lets players take part in the fiercest battles of World War I, from the time desperate soldiers tried to break the impasse and move the frontline in their favor. Developers aimed to fully show horror of the so-called Great War. The expansion has been released on a few platforms, including PC, PS4 and XONE, and requires base version of the game.
Battlefield 1: Apocalypse’s main feature comes in form of five new maps for multiplayer. Passchendaele throws players into brutal fight between Germans and Triple Entente, Kobarid shows the battle between Austrians and Italians, while Somme features the biggest skirmish of World War I, with over million causalities. The two last maps – London Calling and Razor’s Edge – were designed purely for airborne battles.
Expansion also adds new vehicles, as well as six weapons and gadgets, including Chauchat-Ribeyrolles machine pistol and AA Rocket Gun for Assault class that lets him support friendly aircrafts. Lastly, Apocalypse introduces new ranks, service assignments, specializations and dog tags.
PC, PS4 and XONE’s version of Battlefield 1: Apocalypse offers a completely new game mode called Airborne Assault, focused on battles in the sky.
Battlefield 1: Apocalypse features no changes to visuals or technical features of the base game.
