Another reincarnation of Ubisoft’s biathlon simulation released under the title Biathlon 2005. Apart from the proven classic solutions present in the previous installment, the creators included brand new ideas and enhanced the game technically, making it more attractive to the fans.

Just as the 2004 version, the game features three main play modes: Career, in which you play as a biathlonist and climb up to the top of the rank, Arcade for a quick play on a selected route, and Time Attack, where you get to prove your skills in a race against time. All fans of the previous game in the series are bound to feel at home here. Besides, you can compete for gold in several new disciplines, e.g. sprint or chase. There are also the requested by fans Buddygames – quick and fun multiplayer games, letting you share your love for biathlon with other enthusiasts of this sport.

This new installment of Biathlon series works on an enhanced version of the engine used in the previous part. You can enjoy fully 3D graphics with animated models of not only players, but also the crowds. Other proven elements, such as physics, AI of the opponents, weather effects, and lighting and shadows were basically left unchanged. A significant improvement of graphics is a result of using Vertex and FX Shaders. Also surround sound was enhanced to be compatible with Dolby Surround 7.1 technology.

Game score 7.0 / 10 calculated out of 50 players' votes.
