BROK the InvestiGator Description
BROK the InvestiGator was developed by COWCAT, the studio behind the humorous adventure game Demetrios - The Big Cynical Adventure. In BROK the InvestiGator the developers have not abandoned this scheme, but they have added RPG and beat 'em up elements to the detective adventure game with a crocodile in the lead role, thanks to which we can approach the investigation in different ways - diplomatic or much more brutal.
Plot
The game takes us to an alternative, slightly futuristic world inhabited by humanoid animals in various forms, where they struggle with a polluted environment. As it happens, the richer citizens have the privilege of living under a dome that protects them from its negative effects, while the poorer ones have to exist outside the protection of the dome, an easy life.an easy life.In such a world we play as Brok, an ex-boxer, crocodile and private investigator in one. One day, when he comes across clues revealing unknown reasons of his wife's death, he decides to follow them, together with the woman's son - Graff, who is the second playable character in the game. Leading us through various locations and introducing us to a number of secondary characters, we'll be combining clues, evidence and testimonies, and the discovery of the mystery and the impact of this expedition on the characters will depend on our decisions taken during the game, because BROK the InvestiGator offers several endings.
Mechanics
BROK the InvestiGator offers an original combination of different genres. Above all, however, it is a point and click adventure game, in which we travel through the streets of the city, talk to encountered NPCs, interact with various objects and connect individual elements, so that they lead us further. We do this by controlling both Brok's and his adopted son, and the game itself allows us to freely switch between the two. The game also has RPG elements, thanks to which we can develop our hero, because the game also includes a lot of skirmishes and fights played in a typical beat 'em up way. So expect fights with both minor enemies and huge bosses. Some of the fights, however, are optional and depend on the way we want to approach our investigation, because not always obtaining the necessary information requires the use of force. However, if such combination of adventure game and arcade game does not suit you and you want to focus solely on discovering the story, developers have added the option to completely turn off skirmishes, so that you can fully focus on the plot. There is also a hint system in the game, so if you get stuck and have no idea how to solve a puzzle, you can always use this option.
Technical aspects
BROK the InvestiGator has a 2D graphic design kept in a typical cartoon style enriched with full audio.
The game supports both keyboard and mouse controls as well as controllers.
