Game mechanics

In Buccaneers! we observe the action from first person perspective (FPP). Depending on which side we're on, we start the game in a different place. At the beginning, having only a small and poorly-armed ship at our disposal, we sail the Caribbean Sea, complete tasks, search for treasure and fight with the enemy forces.

Sea battles are the most important part of the game, which comes down not only to shelling enemy ships with successive salvos from the cannons, but also to boarding. When it comes to the latter, there is nothing left for us but to grab a weapon and go into battle to support our subordinates, with a sword, gun or musket in hand. In addition, in order to increase the resources of the land belonging to our faction, we have to capture forts and bays, attacking them frontally or acting quietly, under the cover of night.

As we progress we gain resources, which we can use to purchase more powerful ships or to improve our ship.

Technical aspects

Graphics in Buccaneers! is simple, but at the same time colorful and uses clear low poly style (individual elements consist of a relatively small number of polygons). The title makes use of virtual reality sets, although they are not required to play.
