Cloud Gardens is an unusual combination of strategy and puzzle game from Noio's studio, which has a series Kingdom. The player's task is to make the postapocalyptic scenery turn into blooming gardens. The game is not focused on the plot, or on explaining who our hero is or why we do what we do. The main goal is to make the player relax.
Cloud Gardens encourages us to turn the old, empty and forgotten remains of human civilisation into gardens. The player has the opportunity to decorate signs, car parks or destroyed buildings.
The game has two modes. By performing missions in the campaign we unlock new settings. We achieve victory when we have greened enough of the land. However, in the sandbox mode, there is no set goal, we play in it as we please.
On each level we find the initial "seeds" from which our first plants arise. With time, thanks to the fruit produced by the growing flora, we can grow more seedlings. An important aspect of the game is to decide what kind they are to be, as other plant species cope differently on various surfaces.
The game also allows us to modify more or less the subsequent charts. Adding new elements to the landscape is of strategic importance because, for example, a sign placed near our plant supports its growth a little bit, but at the same time it is another element to be covered with greenery.
Cloud Gardens is a single player game.
In terms of the graphic design of Cloud Gardens, people familiar with the Kingdom series should feel at home. The game is characterised by minimalist and aesthetic graphics, bathed in subdued colours. Outside the area that we need to green, the entire background is covered in coloured fog.
Game mode: single player
