A logic stress-free game about creating our own ecosystems, like a savannah, a mountain forest or a coral reef. Preserve allows us to play cards representing objects, animals or plants. We fill the world with them, creating beautiful and harmonic environments. Our efforts are awarded by harmony points.
Preserve is a logic game in which we are engaged in creating our own ecosystems from scratch. The game was developed by the independent studio Bitmap Galaxy from Bratislava. This studio has RandoMine and YesterMorrow games in its portfolio.
In Preserve we watch events in an isometric view. The gameplay takes place on boards covered with a grid of hexagonal fields. They include alpine forests, savannas, or coral reefs.
We want to fill the boards with life and so we play cards representing specific objects (like rivers or lakes), as well as species of plants and animals. Over time we gain access to so-called miracles of nature, such as lavender fields or sequoia forests, which further enhance our maps.
We can place cards on three levels - lowlands, highlands, and in the mountains. Of course, the game area does not only grow vertically. We can also expand it horizontally as we progress.
Each board is equipped with a unique deck. Additionally, each of them is associated with unique challenges that we must discover and overcome. We collect so-called harmony points in the game. In order to acquire as many of them as possible, we need to create an environment that will be suitable for our fauna and flora.
The whole thing was prepared in a way that playing the game would be completely stress-free. This provides the opportunity to relax for both experienced and beginner players.
Preserve only allows for singleplayer. In Harmony mode, we calmly and freely create and develop environments, earning harmony points. In Puzzle mode, we face specially prepared puzzles, using a specific set of cards. In Creative mode, we don't have to worry about any limitations. The icing on the cake is the Photo mode, which allows us to immortalize the locations we have designed in photos.
The graphic design of Preserve was made in low poly technique (it was based on a relatively small number of polygons).
