Code Vein 2 is a sequel of the action RPG from the soulslike genre titled Code Vein, released back in 2019. The game was developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, which oversees the brand.
The gameplay in Code Vein II is based on the mechanics developed for the first part of the series. We watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP), explore locations and engage in dynamic duels with opponents, among whom we will find both weak enemies and powerful bosses.
On the battlefield, we must be constantly moving, making good use of attacks and skills of our character, as well as looking for gaps in the opponents' defense. We can also suck the blood of enemies to gain access to special abilities that increase our combat potential. As we progress, we develop our character and acquire better equipment, thus adapting it to individual needs and preferences.
Companions equipped with unique skills play an important role here, providing indispensable help on the battlefield. They also have their own stories to tell, and the game allows us to form bonds with each of them and shape our journey together with them.
Code Vein 2 takes us to the universe created for the first installment of the series. In this world of the future, people live alongside vampiric creatures known as Revenants. When a threat known as Luna Rapacis appears, Revenants go mad, turning into terrifying monsters called Horrors.
During the game, we play as a Ghost Hunter. Together with a girl named Lou capable of traveling back in time, we take part in a journey through time and space to change the fate of key Revenants, and thus - save the world from total collapse.

CODE VEIN II is a big improvement over the first game. It gives you a deep, open-world anime Souls-like experience with big battle systems, characters that make you feel a lot, and a world that rewards exploration. Early-game explanations and jargon can be too much, but the story and exchanges between characters quickly become interesting.
