A point & click adventure game inspired by the greats of the genre, with the Broken Sword series at the forefront. In Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit we play a girl named Milda, who follows in the footsteps of Lithuanian legends about a lost relic and a ruler who did not live to see his coronation.
Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit is a classic point & click adventure game, inspired mainly by the Broken Sword, Monkey Island, Syberia and Still Life series. It was developed by indie Lithuanian studio Tag of Joy, and it was published by Thunderful Publishing. The project was supervised by the art director of the fan-acclaimed game Broken Sword 2.5: The Return of the Templars.
The main character of the game Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit is a girl living in Chicago named Milda, who inherited a house in Lithuania from her grandfather. After arriving in the country of her ancestors, the protagonist meets an unknown man who threatens her, demanding that she give up her inheritance. Intrigued by this turn of events, Milda arrives at the old mansion, where she quickly finds old documents dating back to the 15th century. Thus begins her adventure, during which she will follow the legends of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, a long-lost relic and the secrets of a ruler who never lived to see his coronation.
In Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit we observe the action from a variety of "cinematic" perspectives. The gameplay is not far from the scheme to which we are accustomed by the greats of the genre, so we travel through various locations scattered across Europe, conduct conversations with encountered characters, as well as solve various puzzles that require finding specific items and using them in a specific way. We can also change clothes, which is useful for solving some puzzles. Besides, as we progress, we make decisions that affect the course of the story and influence the world presented.
Graphics in Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit is made in a cartoonish style, which brings to mind mainly the Broken Sword series. While playing we can listen to the atmospheric soundtrack, composed by Daniel Pharos (known for such projects as A New Beginning, Memoria and Blackguards).

Game Ratings for Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit Video Game.
Jump Dash Roll: 8 / 10 by Rob Kershaw
Crowns and Pawns brings both freshness and familiarity to the point-and-click genre. It may be brief, but quality voice acting and fun puzzles keep momentum going until the very end.?
RPG Fan: 76 / 100 by Neal Chandran
It’s difficult for me to say this, especially with so many positive elements in the game, but I found Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit to be mediocre. It doesn’t do anything inherently wrong, but there is nothing very memorable about it either. My lasting impression is that the game played it too safe and colored too neatly inside the lines. Clearly, a lot of love, effort, and resources went into creating this game. I wanted to adore it, but I have no interest in playing any future games in a hypothetical Crowns and Pawns series. I suppose players looking for a classically-styled point-and-click game will definitely get something out of it, but it’s not a game I would recommend buying unless it’s on sale.

Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit successfully blends in the best of old school adventure games with its own identity.
