Crusader Kings II: Way of Life is another DLC for a popular grand strategy game which was released back at the beginning of 2012. The expansion introduces some new story elements to Paradox Interactive’s game which have a significant impact on the relations between the in-game characters.
The aim of the add-on is to put a greater emphasis on interpersonal relations by enabling the players to have a bigger influence over their ruler’s behavior, including his personal life. One may do so by choosing specific focuses for the controlled character, which grants it unique bonuses and quicker development in a given aspect. Among the 10 available “professions” you may find rulership, stewardship, hunting, family life, intrigue, seduction, knowledge, theology or fighting.
Way of Life brings a new depth to the story aspect of the game which, from the very start, was viewed as a great generator of very medieval-like stories. The life of a medieval ruler not only included controlling the multi-faceted social, political and economic situation. Thanks to the add-on, the characters of Crusader Kings II may now seduce, have affairs, duel, spy on each other and have all kinds of other relationships. The game is also enriched with a multitude of new diplomatic options, based on the more or less official interactions between the characters.
The integral part of Way of Life is patch 2.3 which introduces a number of technical improvements and small interface modifications, as well as few important elements meant for modders.
