Cryospace is a survival horror adventure game. The game was developed by an independent Polish Kuklam Studios. The creators were inspired by science fiction horrors, headed by Alien and Pandorum, as well as selected works by Philip K. Dick.

Plot

Cryospace takes us on a journey into the future, or more precisely aboard a spaceship that drifts in the cosmic void, far from any celestial bodies. The hero of the game is a conservator awakened from his cryogenic sleep in mysterious circumstances. The protagonist quickly discovers that the ship has been captured by alien, aggressive and extremely dangerous life forms. From now on, it is up to him to solve the mystery of the events that took place here while he was asleep and to give himself and the rest of the crew a chance to survive ... which means that he has to fight for his life.

Mechanics

In Cryospace the action is shown with the use of isometric view. During the game we explore the ship's deck, looking for food and oxygen supplies (which we then have to manage in a reasonable way). Only after satisfying the basic needs of the protagonist and thus increasing his chances of survival can we start looking for valuable resources, weapons and other crew members. Thanks to unique skills after waking up from hibernation and providing the appropriate tools, the crew members can be used by us, among other things, as soldiers, and also help us to solve environmental puzzles or to explore and discover the secrets of the ship. Dynamic battles with adversaries also play an important role here, where we use mainly firearms.
