Desperate Place is a two-dimensional shooter with an isometric view, combining elements of survival games and tower defense strategies. The action is set in a science-fiction universe and this shooter is the debut project of the independent studio BruceGalaxy.

Gameplay

In Desperate Place we try to stop cosmic bugs from ruining fuel crops. Our character automatically tracks and shoots at nearby enemies, and is supported by deployed gun turrets, missile silos, beam weapons and other structures designed for both defensive and offensive purposes.

The game is based on "all or nothing" rules. Having received information about how many enemies are coming from a certain direction, we defend ourselves, even when buildings are falling apart before our eyes. Destruction is a temporary inconvenience, as at dawn our base "regenerates". Therefore, we do not need to focus on protecting the infrastructure. Instead the main goal is to eliminate every enemy before they can destroy our shuttle.
