An arena survival game from the creators of the Guns, Gore & Cannoli series, inspired in some ways by Vampire Survivors. In Devil Jam, we end up in hell, where we have to eliminate hordes of enemies. We use musical instruments for combat, attacking opponents to the rhythm of the music and hoping to get to Death itself.

Anyone who has ever been to a metal concert knows that the fun in the so-called pogo can be reminiscent of gameplay from arena survival productions. The Rogueside studio, which has in its portfolio the Guns, Gore & Cannoli series and the game Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef, started with a similar premise when preparing Devil Jam described here.

Gameplay

In Devil Jam the action is viewed from an isometric perspective.

Hordes of enemies

As befits a production inspired by games like Vampire Survivors or Halls of Torment, we explore the afterlife and our main task is to eliminate hordes of enemies. In addition to the numerous regular monsters, we also face much more powerful bosses.

Automatic attacks and equipment management

The battles are incredibly dynamic, and our weapons are various instruments, led by guitars. On the battlefield, we must keep moving constantly, and since the game offers us 12 slots for items, the key to success is creating combinations of equipment and abilities that complement each other. Interestingly, attacking enemies happens automatically, as each weapon plays to the rhythm of the music on its own.
