Release Date: October 23, 2025
A new opening in the series of beat'em up titles, created by Yuke's and published by Arc System Works. Double Dragon Revive features a side view with 3D graphics, allowing us again to play as Billy and Jimmy Lee, defeating groups of enemies standing in their way.
Double Dragon Revive is kind of a "new opening" in the history of the cult beat'em up series under the Double Dragon brand, launched in 1987. The game is the result of cooperation with the Yuke's studio, whose portfolio includes a number of games from the WWE 2K series or AEW: Fight Forever. The release was handled by Arc System Works, which acquired the rights to this brand in 2015.
In Double Dragon Revive once again we take on the roles of Billy and Jimmy Lee, the main characters of the series and martial arts masters. The protagonists once again have to face their powerful enemies from the past, and it's up to us to ensure they come out unscathed from this confrontation.
In terms of mechanics, Double Dragon Revive does not differ much from what we are accustomed to both from the series itself and from the entire genre. We watch the action from the side, and during the game we control warrior characters who move to the right through city streets and building interiors, eliminating hordes of adversaries along the way.
Our heroes primarily use their own fists and legs (to deliver various blows and kicks), merging attacks into spectacular combinations. This is not everything, as they also make use of melee weapons, which they can pick up to beat up their enemies. Elements of the environment (like trash cans, into which we can throw defeated opponents) are also available.
Double Dragon Revive stands out from its predecessors thanks to its three-dimensional graphics.

Game Ratings for Double Dragon Revive Video Game.
PlayStation Universe: 5 / 10 by John-Paul Jones
Though Streets of Rage 4 remains the bar to pass, Double Dragon Revive even feels markedly less satisfying than the excellent Double Dragon: Rise of the Dragons which was released a little over two years ago. That said, while Double Dragon Revive does implement some neat mechanics which would serve future games well, the lackluster 3D character models and dull worlds act to its ultimate detriment, resulting in plodding combat that rarely satisfies or compels. If this was intended to be a true revival of Double Dragon, then someone forgot to bring along the soul because what we've ended up with is a hollow facsimile of what Double Dragon should be, rather than an evolved celebration of everything we loved about it in the first place.
IGN: 5 / 10 by Jarrett Green
Double Dragon Revive feels less like the miraculous resurrection its title might suggest and more like exhuming a shambling corpse.

Double Dragon Revive is a good beat 'em up that lets you try new things and brings back memories. There are some problems with the revival, but fans of the type should still go. It fits well with newer games like Absolum and Marvel Cosmic Invasion, offering an old-school yet updated take on a famous series.
