A Chinese action RPG with a third-person camera and slasher/shooter combat, available in a free-to-play format. Duet Night Abyss features two playable characters, and we learn their stories from different perspectives, making choices that affect the course of the story. The game can be played alone or in coop mode.
Among the development studios from China, teams that are trying to succeed in the field of free RPG games with a focus on multiplayer gameplay are leading the way. This is also the case with the Pan Studio team, which is behind the action RPG described here, titled Duet Night Abyss.
In Duet Night Abyss the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).
Before starting the game, we choose one of two characters. We have a woman and a man at our disposal, and the choice of whom we decide to play is important as they represent two sides of the story.
As we progress, we gain access to additional characters from both sides of the barricade. Additionally, we can customize the appearance of our characters to suit individual preferences using cosmetic add-ons.
When playing as the character of our choosing, we explore locations, meet their inhabitants, complete quests, and face opponents, utilizing a combat system that stands between slashers and shooters.
The battles are dynamic and we can freely switch between melee weapons and ranged weapons on the battlefield. We have an arsenal at our disposal, including sniper rifles, grenade launchers, as well as whips and crossbows. We can also rely on the help of companions and creatures that we capture and train like Pokemon.
As we progress, we gather increasingly powerful equipment, as well as develop our character and upgrade the weapons we already possess, making use of the crafting system.
Duet Night Abyss transports us to Atlasia, a universe on the border of fantasy and science fiction, where magic exists alongside advanced technology. The story told in the game is experienced from two perspectives – a resident of the Empire and a woman searching for her missing friend.
We make choices in the game that affect the course of the story and its ending.
Duet Night Abyss can be played solo or in online co-op mode.
The graphics in Duet Night Abyss are maintained in a manga style.
This week, games such as Duet Night Abyss, Wreckborn, Quarantine Zombies, Taxi Chaos 2, and Ethernia will be released on Steam.
