MMORPG TPP game in which we find ourselves on the distant planet Aida. In Tower of Fantasy, we take on the role of one of the characters and traverse the vast world, completing quests and facing enemies.
Tower of Fantasy is an MMORPG set in a universe with fantasy and science fiction elements. It was developed by the Hotta Studio team, and it was released by Level Infinite.
Tower of Fantasy takes us to the future, and more precisely - to the distant planet Aida, where humanity had to flee after draining the Earth's natural resources. Life on that globe was flourishing at its best, until a mysterious comet appeared in the sky. Mara, as it was christened, was the source of Omnium - a powerful energy that could provide a giant leap in civilization. To obtain it, the titular tower was built to capture the comet. Although it led to a cataclysmic event instead, the scientists eventually managed to deal with its devastating effects. Nevertheless, afterwards they hailed themselves as saviors of Aida and began to exploit the Omnium on a large scale. Their actions led to conflicts that shook the entire planet time and again.
In the course of the gameplay, we take on the role of heroes who land in the middle of the turmoil caused by the Omnium. How we make our mark on the history of Aida depends entirely on us.
In Tower of Fantasy, we observe the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). We begin the game by choosing a character, which is differentiated by gender and appearance, as well as skills, preferred weaponry and fighting style. For example, Crow fights using a pair of daggers, Samir eliminates enemies using two pistols, while Tsubasa makes use of a bow on the battlefield. Further, there is nothing left for us to do but throw ourselves into adventures.
We traverse the vast and varied open world on foot or at the controls of vehicles. Exploring Aida, we get to know its inhabitants and perform various tasks, as well as fight enemies, of course. The encounters are dynamic, and during them we have to skillfully use the abilities of our characters. At the same time, we are not left alone to fight our way through. Although nothing prevents us from trying to act solo, the presence of other players encourages us to join teams and face the challenges waiting for us in the game world together.
As we progress, we develop characters so that we can face more and more dangers over time.
Tower of Fantasy allows both PvE play and fierce duels with other players (PvP). At the same time, the title offers crossplay functionality.

At the end of the day, you can have a decent amount of fun with Tower of Fantasy but it’s hard to see this title having much of a future. Just next week, Genshin Impact has its version 3.0 release which will drain most of the content-hungry gacha crowd away, while Zenless Zone Zero appears to be a looming giant that’ll present a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting with great quality. Investing much time and money doesn’t feel right when the strengths of the title can’t overpower the overwhelming negatives.

At the end of the day, I found myself feeling pretty ambivalent towards Tower of Fantasy. I appreciated its focus on multiplayer activities, but ultimately, Tower of Fantasy wants to be a story-driven MMORPG with an immersive open-world for players to get lost in, and it just isn’t that. After finally getting past the honeymoon period of being wowed by its sun-soaked environments, it became clear that Tower of Fantasy is pretty much all style, with little substance. It’s a fun romp, and certainly one of the better mobile MMOs out right now, but in the grand scheme of things, there isn’t quite enough polish or engaging quest content to keep me coming back for more.

I’m very ambivalent about Tower of Fantasy, but despite seeing quite a few flaws, I also see a lot of potential here. The attempts to riff on Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd wind up leaving some of the things it attempts to emulate feeling inferior to where it’s drawing inspiration from. That said, what it tries to do differently is help make a functional, stable platform from which Tower of Fantasy could truly start to grow from, and make something entirely fresh and unique from its competition. The exploration features, the Relic system, and even the weapon types are willing to come together and make something fun and unique, but it’s held back by a mostly lackluster world, bad story writing, annoying upgrade systems, and currency overload. I’d say go in strictly on Free-to-Play ideals, temper your expectations and focus on the things it does differently, and you’ll probably find something to like.
